Kinds of Essays

An article is, in general, an essay that presents the author’s argument, but sometimes the definition is uncertain, overlapping with that of an argumentative paper, an article, a newspaper column, a novel, and even a short narrative. Essays are traditionally been divided into formal and informal compositions. In formal composition, an essay will be written in a prescribed form, whereas in informal composition the ideas and arguments develop on their own. The gap between formal and informal composition has to do with the style of delivery and the medium upon which the essay is delivered.

A typical essay is made up of two elements. The first element is that the issue or content of this essay, which might be any subject (business, social, scientific, political, religious, aesthetic, etc.), an opinion, or even an expository address (on any subject ). The fourth most common type of essay is that the expository essay. An expository article is written to persuade the reader to make an impression, or to support one’s opinion. Essays on expository topics typically deal with law, religion, political science, math, science, history, and other related topics. An article can contain a thesis statement, which will be a clear discussion presented completely in the design of an argument, or a list of related information, which will often support the author’s point of view.
